multimuse rp blog. written by toast.

PROTOCOL

  • hi, i’m toast, and this is a multimuse roleplay blog. it’s independent, selective, and 18+/adults only. activity will be pretty slow here, since i have a job and other obligations. i’m lazy and sick of formatting posts, so i don’t. also, i’m using the beta editor (don’t really have a choice there), so keep that in mind when making threads. i’m currently not using icons for this blog.

  • about me: i’m a 28 year old lesbian and i use she/they pronouns.

  • even though this blog deals with darker content, certain behaviors will not be tolerated. there will be no romanticizing/sexualizing children, shipping minors with adults, incest, racism/homophobia, or other related bigotry.

  • no forceshipping, godmodding, metagaming, etc. although, of course, relationships naturally developing or permission for something being given by myself (e.g., agreeing to something to push the plot along) are fine.

  • spoilers for relatively new pieces of media (like signalis, for example) will be tagged in the format of [media name] spoilers //. spoilers for genshin impact, however, will not be tagged for unless they involve the (current) most recent patch/update.

  • i always read the rules of people i follow, but i don’t usually send in passwords. there are some fandoms i won’t interact with or generally avoid, that i won’t list out here. please just understand that i may not follow everyone back or want to interact with every single muse on a multimuse blog.

  • you can reach me through messages on tumblr, but my discord is also available upon request for interested mutuals.

  • obligatory disclaimer for bungou stray dogs characters on this blog: these aren't the actual authors, they just share names and are loosely inspired by them/their works of literature. don't make it weird. shit opinions of the irl writers are not shared by these muses.

  • credits: pretty much all the images i'm currently using for blog assets are from the video game signalis. any additional images used for character pages are from official material from their own media. i edited everything myself, so please don't steal it.

IL DOTTORE (EPSILON BUILD)

DISCLAIMER: This Dottore is a specific segment, not the original Dottore. Both his and the original's plotlines diverge from canon. I won't be writing either of them (or the other segments) in the canonical setting/storyline of the game. Their plot diverges significantly, and is linked to Syd's Scaramouche. He's technically an original character, but the closest canon equivalent to Epsilon is the Dottore from the webtoon/manga, since that's who he was based on. Please see the "timeline" section at the bottom of the page for additional details.

orientation: gay
affiliation: fatui

rank: second of the fatui harbingers (shared with the original dottore and other segments)

appearance
eyes: scarlet, bright and intense
hair: pale tuquoise, almost white; short but unruly
height: 6'0" / 183 cm
build: broad-shouldered and toned. a bit more muscular than one would typically expect from a researcher.
identifying features: wears a mask that hides just about everything besides his eyes and half of his mouth. has uniformly sharp teeth rather than typical human dentition.

personality
enneagram: 5w4 sp/sx
sociotype: ILI-INTP
disposition: like most versions of dottore, he is prideful, compelled by curiosity, and quite opinionated. while he projects an air of confidence, he hesitates to make decisions without any procedure or prior knowledge to base his conclusions on. has a softer side when it comes to scaramouche, due to their close association.

Dottore, Second of the Fatui Harbingers, was, above all other things, a perfectionist. A person that always saw the potential of humanity, of himself, to grow beyond the boundaries set by their own nature. There had to be a way to become more than just himself.Over the years, he grew dissatisfied with only extending his own existence indefinitely. It was one thing to live, it was another thing entirely to make himself into a phenomenon, something completely new. When Ei’s puppet entered into the ranks of the Fatui, it was the moment of change, the start of a revelation. While studying the newly-named Scaramouche, Dottore began to unravel the technological innovations that would fulfill his own desires.

Dottore’s segments are biomechanical beings, their construction partly inspired by the workings of the divine puppet, but innovated upon by their creator. They are not only his creations, but one with him in flesh and blood—their biological components cultured from pieces of his own body. Beneath their skin and muscle lies a tough metal skeleton, their innards a mix of bioengineered organs and mysterious devices. They possess brains identical to the original, having a copy of his neural patterns and therefore his memories. The full process of creating the segments is a closely-held secret, privy to only Dottore and his doubles. However, due to the nature of their construction, the body of the original was split in twain, and he silently took his leave from public appearances. If the segments are to be believed, he stepped away of his own volition, and is still alive and extant. Having allocated his various responsibilities to his replacements, he is presumably somehow supervising them while pursuing other ventures. The appearances of the segments were based on various ages throughout Dottore’s adult life, referred to as “builds”. This odd aesthetic choice is commonly explained as Dottore’s attempt at gaining different perspectives from different versions of himself. Each build is identified by a letter (Alpha, Beta, Gamma, etc.).

Epsilon is one of the segments with a medical-oriented persuasion. His main area of research is continuing the studies on Scaramouche (including carrying out repairs and general maintenance). He also functions as a catch-all emergency doctor and participates in observing scientific operations at distant Fatui facilities (a responsibility that cycles between several segments). Occasionally he is sent out on “diplomatic” missions, usually to Mondstadt. As a hobby, he enjoys working with technology; he has an interest in Ruin Guards and other ancient machines, but this also applies to taking apart and repairing any sort of mechanism. Within the segments, it's well-known that there's a reason he's particularly attached to his mask.

timeline

<500 years ago: Years after the cataclysm, Zandik is a trainee Dastur at the Sumeru Akademiya. During an expedition to the Ardravi Valley, another Dastur named Sohreh is mortally wounded under mysterious circumstances. After Sohreh’s death, an autopsy was conducted on her body which concluded her cause of death was likely manual asphyxia, rather than wounds from an animal attack as previously expected. This, along with some of Zandik’s behaviors in his research, led to his expulsion from the Akademiya. Branded as a heretic and madman, Zandik ran away from civilization, finding himself alone in the desert until he meets a man in a mask. Pierro sought him out based on the rumors surrounding him, and offered him an opportunity to join the Fatui. Zandik accepted, and was given the new name of Il Dottore—the Doctor.~400 years ago: Ei’s puppet is taken in by the Fatui. Dottore is put in charge of studying them, unleashing their powers and carrying out repairs after their many trips to the Abyss. A genuine relationship of trust begins to form between the two, one with the potential to become something more. After proving their worth, the puppet becomes Sixth of the Harbingers and is named Scaramouche. During this time period, Dottore begins to put together the process that will one day give birth to the segments.~300 years ago: Whilst Scaramouche is away on an Abyss expedition, production of the segments is completed. The original Il Dottore disappears behind the scenes, leaving his duplicates in his place—without so much as a goodbye left for Scaramouche. Scaramouche returns to find the segment named Epsilon pretending to be Dottore without even an explanation until they press him to reveal the truth. Epsilon takes over working with Scaramouche. The relationship becomes significantly less professional over time, evolving into something…romantic?several years ago: Another reveal takes place, with Scaramouche finally solving the riddle of what happened to the original Dottore. They also learn (much to their chagrin) that the segments were heavily based on them and that the archon residue distilled from their blood is used to keep the segments running. Much was kept from them over the years, but despite this betrayal, they are able to obtain some sort of closure from speaking with the original.bad wine: Some time later, Epsilon carries out a poorly-planned diplomatic mission in Mondstadt. After clashing with the “Darknight Hero”, he takes his leave, dragging along the corpse of one of his subordinates (which later becomes materials for Ruin Guard-like creature). A past Eleazar patient/test subject, Collei, makes her way to Mondstadt as well, instigating events that kill other Fatui diplomats and make him aware of her continued existence.inazuma interlude: Epsilon continues to work in a supportive fashion with Scaramouche and the rest of the Fatui. Scaramouche remains inside Inazuma, manipulating Ei as the country shuts its borders to outside access. After the Traveler confronts Ei and Scaramouche steals her gnosis, the furious god attempts to take over Scaramouche’s own body as a vessel—an attempt that is thwarted thanks to the modifications made by the original Dottore. The duo is reunited after Scaramouche, disturbed but still themself, comes back to Snezhnaya with the gnosis in hand.current events: Scaramouche gives up the gnosis to the Fatui, but initiates another plot. Under the guise of "betraying" the Fatui, they will join the Traveler and gain their trust...while reporting back to Epsilon. That is the Fatui-approved portion of the plan. The two of them are truly attempting to play both sides, leaving open the option of actually defecting; something they have both contemplated. Over the years, Epsilon's loyalties have turned more toward following the whims of the Balladeer rather than the ideals of the organization. But if he leaves, cutting ties might be quite difficult...

IL DOTTORE

DISCLAIMER: While this is the “original” Dottore, he is based more in headcanon and the theories/plots I developed with Syd. Considering how little we know about the version of him in the game (let alone if he’s even still around), I thought I would take things in…a little more creative direction. This is the “real” Doctor, but he stays behind the scenes for a reason. It’s unlikely for characters to run into him unless they’re specifically introduced by one of his segments or are already familiar with him. If you want a Dottore that will be more directly (physically) involved in plot stuff, I reccomend checking out the page on Epsilon. Depending on what we learn as the game unfolds, the information here might change, or stay the same.

An end, and a beginning. You didn’t expect that he would just leave, did you? No, it would have been such a waste to just rip himself apart and destroy one of the greatest minds in Teyvat, wouldn’t it?Although he sacrificed most of his old body to create the segments, The Doctor had the next step in mind. He always did. It wouldn’t have been right, or proper, to carry out an experiment like this without an observer. Someone who had access to all the information needed to keep an eye on things in perpetuity, to direct the segments so that they were not entirely abandoned to their own devices.Dottore had always wanted to make a thinking machine, one that was truly conscious and intelligent, not a poorly programmed facsimile of human thought. Why not dedicate himself to this task as well? And so, upon his disassembly, his remains were integrated into a monolithic machine, enshrined in wires and secluded in a forbidden, off limits area of the laboratory wing. His brain became the core of a computing machine—or more succinctly, a computer.

basics
name: zandik
aliases: il dottore, the doctor
age: ~470 chronologically
birth date: ████████
constellation: ████████
gender: transmasc nonbinary
pronouns: he/him
orientation: gay
affiliation: fatui
rank: second of the fatui harbingers (shared with the segments)

appearance
Much like the segments, his current “body” is a mix of human and machine. His nerves and wires run through the walls of his domain, the security cameras are his eyes, and his hands (the segments) are never too far out of reach. At the center of it all is a massive screen and a keyboard where he can be directly spoken to. Since he doesn’t have a face anymore, exactly, he tends to just be represented onscreen as a single red eye that changes to convey expression to go with his emotional tone when speaking. He can speak vocally, but can also send out messages through text to other screens in the lab area. It purely depends on his mood and who he’s speaking with.

personality
enneagram: 5w4 sp/sx
sociotype: ILI-INTP
disposition: more calm and collected than the younger segments, but still unrepentantly smug and insufferable. he at least claims to have ascended to a higher state, unconstrained by a human body. it’s not clear if he truly is that confident in his superiority, or whether he is merely trying to convince himself this is something more than him trying to escape the boundaries of his own life.

personality
enneagram: 3w4 sx/so
sociotype: ILI-INTP
disposition:

abilities
Although he’s not a physical fighter, Dist is an exceedingly talented engineer who builds and maintains robots to engage in battle for him. His creations are a force to be reckoned with, as they’re armed to the teeth and built with defenses that can take plenty of punishment. Dist himself may not be imposing, but the carnage that can follow in his wake is hardly laughable.
He’s also a decent fonist, although his artes are mainly used for controlling and powering his robots. He prefers to manipulate them from a safe distance—hopefully far from the line of fire. But even if he’s injured, he has an incredible tendency to survive normally fatal attacks.

biography

Born as Saphir Wyon Gneiss, Dist grew up in the snowy town of Keterburg. He was childhood friends with Jade and Nephry Balfour, as well as the future emperor of Malkuth, Peony IX. Saphir latched onto Jade and saw him as a close friend, despite the other boy’s obvious disdain for his clingy nature. The whole group attended a school run by Gelda Nebilim, a talented and kind fonist. In an experimental attempt at learning to use the seventh fonon, Jade started a fire that ended up killing the professor. Saphir was the only witness. Jade decided to use the newly invented art of fomicry to create a replica of the professor in order to save her, but the replica’s existence was unstable. Though at the time she retreated into the wilderness, the replica later killed several fonists, which caught the attention of the Malkuth military. She was eventually sealed by military fonists in a hidden cave on Mt. Roneal.Saphir and Jade went on to attend Grand Chokmah’s military academy, and continued pursuing their study of fomicry. The military had an interest in their projects, though the two of them were only searching for a way to truly bring back Nebilim. Although Jade is currently seen as the “Father of Fomicry”, Saphir also had a hand in the creation of the modern practice by inventing machines that replaced the complex fonic glyphs needed previously. After the duo graduated, their research culminated in an accident that wounded Jade. With Peony’s insistence and his own guilty conscience weighing on him, Jade announced that he was banning fomicry and abandoning the idea of resurrecting Nebilim. Saphir saw this as the ultimate betrayal of his loyalty to Jade and their beloved professor, and this disagreement caused an irreparable rift in their relationship. He strongly believed that if he were able to bring back the Nebilim, Jade would return to his old self who Saphir so adored. As fomicry was quickly outlawed in Malkuth, Saphir fled the country. He traveled to Daath, joined the Oracle Knights, and changed his name to Dist (adopting the middle name Ortion, for which the Ortion Cavern was later named). Dist continued his research under Van Grants and was granted the status of God-General and 2nd Division Commander of the Oracle Knights. Although many joined Van for his ideals, Dist was still wholeheartedly focused only on his own goals. However, his skill with fontech and fomicry made him invaluable to Van’s plan, regardless of Dist’s true motivations.Throughout the events of Tales of the Abyss, Dist acts as a villain (albeit sometimes ineptly) and even switches alliances while trying to orchestrate the plot to his advantage, all in pursuit of eventually being able to free the original Nebilim replica and stabilize her condition.Of course, once he managed to release her, she nearly killed him. After the replica was defeated, he was taken into custody and jailed for his crimes.Post-game, Dist was released from jail by Peony and Jade, under the condition that he assist Jade in studying fomicry to help the replicas left in the world. He’s currently working in Grand Chokmah under military observation.

LOVECRAFT

basics
name: h.p. lovecraft
aliases: N/A
age: 28 (supposedly)
birth date: august 20
gender: agender
pronouns: he/him
orientation: ??? (exclusively attracted to steinbeck)
occupation: guild member (former)

appearance
eyes: black
hair: black
height: 6'2" / 190 cm
build: thin, long limbs. suspiciously flexible.
identifying features: eldritch abomination

personality
enneagram: 5w6 sp/so
sociotype: IEI-INFP
disposition: almost totally disconnected from “normal” behaviors. stressed out by most things, including socializing and existing. next to being anxious, his second most common trait is appearing entirely exhausted. all of this belies the fact that, technically speaking, he’s an incredibly powerful creature, and as such he can walk into potentially dangerous situations without a care.

ability
name: the great old one
description: at first glance, a rather straightforward ability, granting lovecraft the power to transform parts of his body into greenish tentacles. in dire circumstances, he can fully metamorphose into a gigantic, tentacled creature with a truly unnerving appearance. however, identifying his talents as an “ability” at face value is a grave misunderstanding. in reality, lovecraft has no ability—because he isn't human. the being he turns into is the closest people can come to comprehending his true form. appropriately for his strange nature, lovecraft is nearly immortal. he regenerates extremely quickly from injury of any kind, and can only be truly hurt from within. even upon apparent “death”, he can pull himself back together if given the time to do so.

SHIBUSAWA

basics
name: shibusawa tatsuhiko (澁澤 龍彦)
aliases: the collector, pale qilin
age: 37, appears 29
birth date: may 8
gender: nonbinary
pronouns: he/him
orientation: gay
languages: japanese, english, french
occupation: "abilities researcher"/menace to society

appearance
eyes: red
hair: white
height: 5'11" / 180 cm
build: ethereal
identifying features: oculocutaneous albinism

personality
enneagram: 5w4 sx/sp
sociotype: LII-INTJ
disposition: summarized in one word: bored. shibusawa grows quickly disenchanted with most things, and continuously seeks out new entertainment. unfortunately for everyone else, his idea of “fun” often has consequences for others (whether monetary—he’s prone to stealing, or physical/mental trauma). he seeks out new items for his collections in a failing pursuit at curing his ennui and negating his loneliness. his sense of isolation is exacerbated by his lack of empathy for other people.

ability
name: draconia
description: a complicated, multi-layered ability. in its simplest form, it allows shibusawa to summon a mist (called ‘dragon’s breath’) that separates abilities from their users once they are enveloped by the fog. separated abilities manifest their own form, and then attempt to kill their user. if the ability is successful, it is transformed into a gem, which appears in draconia’s collection. abilities can be “killed” and returned to their owner in two cases: 1) shibusawa’s ability being disrupted, or 2) the red gem somewhere on their body being destroyed. in this case, the ability must be accepted, or it will remain dormant inside the user.
the “core” of draconia’s power, the collection room, is a space containing all the abilities collected by shibusawa; an ornate stained glass dome with countless shelves on the inside. it is not constrained by location or laws of physics, and can be manifested in any spot shibusawa chooses (or not at all). the number of ability gems currently contained by draconia determines the overall strength of the powers shibusawa can manifest (i.e. fog range and intensity, size of dragon form).upon shibusawa’s first death, draconia activated involuntarily and split from shibusawa, taking on his identity. this allowed him to return from death, but at the price of his humanity. in his current state, shibusawa is a construct made from his ability, and can be revived so long as his collection still exists in some form. after the events of dead apple, he has been using what’s left of his skeleton, in combination with the jewel embodying his ability, as a catalyst to maintain his physical state. since shibusawa and his ability are basically one and the same, abilities that cancel out draconia (like dazai’s no longer human) can put him out of commission by temporarily erasing his current form, leaving behind his inert remains until he recovers.either due to his involvement in the singularity during dead apple, or as a natural trait of his ability, shibusawa has an alternate form. much like atsushi's tiger, he can morph fully or partly into a white dragon. unlike atsushi, he doesn’t possess enhanced healing, but this transformation dramatically increases his speed, strength, and defensive capabilities (as his scales provide natural armor).

IVAN

basics
name: ivan alexandrovich goncharov
aliases/nicknames: vanya, vanechka, gon
age: 28
birth date: june 18
gender: cis man
pronouns: he/him
orientation: gay
languages: russian, english, japanese
occupation: rats in the house of the dead member (formerly?), cafe uzumaki staff

appearance
eyes: grey
hair: silver
height: 5'11" / 180 cm
build: slender and androgynous
identifying features: horizontal scar across his forehead, usually hidden beneath bandages

personality
enneagram: 2w3 sx/sp
sociotype: ESE-ESFJ
mental status: has significant side effects due to having his “unhappiness removed” by fyodor. most typically exhibited in his usual demeanor being somewhere between blissful and manic. he shows some symptoms common in frontal lobe injury, such as impaired memory, lack of planning, problems with empathy, and bouts of intense unregulated emotions (joy, rage, etc.).
disposition: ivan perpetually has a smile on his face, whether he wants to or not. due to the operation carried out on his brain, he doesn’t consciously process negative emotions most of the time, and certainly doesn’t show them in a typical way if he does. he wants, above all else, to be helpful—if in a situation where he can’t default to his typical obsequence around Fyodor, he will generally latch onto caring for someone else.

ability
name: the precipice
description: allows ivan to manipulate the earth itself. he can mold stone, dirt, and clay into different shapes and animate the resulting creation accordingly, but his constructs have no will of their own and ivan must be in their vicinity to control them. his ability's connection to the environment grants him constant awareness of activity around him, though this can be circumvented by not touching the ground.
